Phones for Life Programs and Services
Phones with Minutes
Phones with Minutes come loaded with free, pre-paid minutes. This phone is specifically designed to bring peace of mind to active seniors. Each phone will make and receive calls like a regular cell phone. Once the free minutes are used (whether for outgoing or incoming calls), the Phones for Life phone automatically reverts to a "9-1-1" only phone. Recipients have the option of loading more minutes for an additional charge simply by calling our call center at (888) 211-9722. A unit of 130 pre-paid minutes currently costs $25.
In Case of Emergency ("ICE")
Phones with Minutes are programmed with In Case of Emergency "ICE" numbers. ICE numbers are a powerful tool that allow emergency responders to reach out to the specific doctors, relatives or care providers who know a Phones for Life user the best. In the event that someone carrying a Phones for Life with ICE numbers experiences a medical emergency, and if a Phones for Life user is non-responsive or impaired, the emergency responder can locate and dial ICE contacts who are simply designated as ICE-1, ICE-2 without need to know their name, phone number or relationship. These ICE contacts are often critical in access medical history or treatment details or to simply advise the responsible relative or caretaker that their loved one has been hurt. ICE programming is a related service of Phones for Life with Minutes.
